LECTURERS SPEAK AS OGITECH PREPARES FOR STUDENTS' UNION ELECTIONS

Some lecturers of the Ogun State Institute of Technology, Igbesa have called for cooperation from the students of the Ogun State Institute of Technology as they prepare for the SUG elections coming up next week.


They spoke during the first ever OGITECH-SUG Presidential debate organised by the Press Club of the Ogun State Institute of Technology, Igbesa.


Mr. Kehinde Tajudeen Shogbamu, a lecturer in the department of mass communication spoke on the importance of participating in politics nationally and academically. He was also discouraged on the number of students present in the event.


In his speech he advised ‘we should campaign and not hate, vote and not fight’. He urged that all students come out to vote in the forthcoming election. 


Mr. Sabitu a lecturer in the department of Business Administration advised the students to relax, he asserted that aspirants, students and lecturers should be prepared to showcase peace, free and fare election.


Mr. Justice Nwonko, a lecturer in the  department of mass communication in his speech stressed that the students and aspirants should maintain peace in the course of the election exercise 


The lecturers as well as the students were impressed attending the first SUG presidential debate in the institute .


Students of the Ogun State Institute of Technology, Igbesa, are anticipating the countdown towards the SUG Elections.


The Presidential aspirants are Comr. Michael Soaga from the department of Mass Communication, Comr. Abdullahi Adedotun from Computer science and Comr. Ezekiel Ojo from Marketing Department.


During the Presidential Debate, they were given the opportunity to air out their ambitions if they emerge president preferences on leadership, their fears and their major priorities and lastly what they seek to achieve if they were to emerge as the president of the SUG.


Lecturers, Press men as well as the students were all present to assess their capabilities.
