*INSTITUTE'S DEVELOPMENT IS MY PRIORITY - OGITECH RECTOR


 

Dr. Babatunde Oluseye, the Rector of Ogun State Institute of Technology has disclosed that the development of the school is the foremost priority of his administration. According to him, the state of infrastructures in the school when he arrived was not palatable, as it was really "challenging." 

The Rector  emphasized that his major objective as the institute's Rector is  to put in place necessary mechanisms that would bring about the development and progress of the Institution.He said "when I came in, there were a lot of things that need to be done, such as improvement of the Institution clinic, construction of road, more building, provision of day care for members of staff and students who are nursing mothers."

The rector highlighted some of the administrative challenges he has encountered  so far, which are; the school's land encroachment, the school's clinic not having a doctor and other needed personnel, he revealed that the clinic had only a nurse and there were no necessary equipment in the clinic. The only available medication for all kind of ailment the students might have is Panadol which ought no to be so.

Consequently, his administration has taken it as a point of duty to develop the school in all ramifications where it has swung into action immediately by starting with road construction. It could be noted that the  institute's road was in a terrible condition, As such, there had been a continuous outcry amidst the students and members of staff, complaining of how the road affect their commuting on campus, especially during raining seasons.

The Rector also disclosed that he has put developmental measures in place in several capacities some of whom are the Institute's entrance reconstruction, and provision of necessary  equipments in the school's clinic, he disclosed that "the clinic can now boast of a doctor and nurses with more available drugs and medical equipment for effective delivery of their duties. Which is an upgrade compared to its previous state." 

He further  stressed that he wants the students to be comfortable on campus and to learn in a really conducive environment aims to introduce technological advancements as the Institute is working on producing drones internally
