While parliamentarians discussed the comprehensive economic, social, and political reform program proposed by recently elected President Javier Milei, demonstrators gathering outside Congress in Buenos Aires were dispersed by police using rubber bullets.
At one point, opposition lawmakers walked out of the building to watch and criticize the police intervention, but they later returned to take their places, and the debate continued until after midnight.
Three injuries and numerous arrests were reported by the local media. At least twelve were reported by the Buenos Aires journalists union.
