The Yewa Peoples Development Council (YPDC), led by Oba Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle, MFR, the Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, is organizing the cultural fiesta with the help and oversight of the Yewa Traditional Council (YTC).
‘Celebration of Culture, Tradition, Music, Cuisine, and Dance’ is the tagline for the proposed Mega Cultural Festival.
The event, according to a statement made and signed by its chairman, Chief Lekan Asuni, is intended to promote community cohesion, cultural identity, and socioeconomic growth.
The program is scheduled to run from October 7 to October 15, 2023, in all five local government areas of Yewaland. The grand finale will take place on Saturday, October 14, at the Ultra-Modern Pavilion in Ilaro-Yewa, and among other side events, will include the presentation of awards of recognition to some well-known figures in Yewaland.
The statement reads, “Yewa Cultural Festival has been held in key towns for several years, especially in Ilaro, the political center of Yewaland. However, the 2023 edition is noteworthy in a number of ways.
The cultural event In 2023 will be historic because it will be the first time that all Yewa communities have united under the YPDC to collaboratively plan and host a Mega Cultural Festival to share with the world their rich cultural legacy. The distinctiveness of Yewa culture, customs, and tradition finds unique expression in music, dance, folklore, food, clothes, and other areas.
The second is that the events’ schedule reflects the cultural diversity of a people who share a shared destiny. These distinctive qualities are now being investigated for the first time in an effort to strengthen the ties of brotherhood, peaceful coexistence, love, peace, unity, and social and economic prosperity for the natives and residents of Yewaland.
Thirdly, and most crucially, the 2023 Yewa Cultural Festival has given the populace a way to plot a route for social and economic revival, even in the midst of the cultural renaissance’s enthusiasm. According to the statement, the proposed Economic Summit is a crucial step in Yewaland developing socioeconomic growth.
Prince Dapo Abiodun, the governor of Ogun State, and Engineer Noimot Oyedele Salako, the deputy governor, are just a few of the luminaries that are scheduled to attend the event.
